free-ish is a social gathering planning app that helps groups decide when, where, and what to do using collaborative voting rounds.
You can register with your email address and a password, or sign in with your Google account. After registering, you can optionally verify your phone number to enable SMS notifications.
free-ish offers a free tier with core features. Premium subscription tiers are available for additional capabilities.
From your dashboard, select "Create Gathering," give it a title and description, then invite participants via email or SMS. You can then add voting rounds to decide on timing, activities, and venues.
Voting rounds let your group collectively decide on aspects of the gathering. There are three types -- timing rounds (when to meet), activity rounds (what to do), and venue rounds (where to go). Each round uses ranked-choice voting.
Participants rank their preferences in order. If no option wins a majority of first-choice votes, the lowest-ranked option is eliminated and its votes are redistributed based on each voter's next preference. This continues until one option wins. You can also mark an option as "absolute no" to veto it entirely.
You can invite participants by entering their email address or phone number. They will receive an invitation via email or SMS with a link to view the gathering and participate.
Yes. Invited guests can respond to invitations, view gathering details, and vote in rounds using a guest link -- no account required. A banner on the guest view encourages them to sign up for the full experience.
free-ish can generate venue and activity suggestions using AI based on your gathering details such as title, location, and group size. These suggestions can be added directly to a voting round as options.
If you sign in with Google, you can connect your Google Calendar. When a gathering is finalized, free-ish can create a calendar event with the decided time, venue, and details automatically added to your Google Calendar.
free-ish sends email notifications for invitation updates, voting round openings, and gathering finalization. If you verify your phone number and opt in to SMS, you can also receive text message notifications. You can manage your notification preferences in your profile settings.
